'Cocky' Lockyer upsets Poms

AUSTRALIA captain Darren Lockyer has been left red-faced by a story in London's The Sun newspaper in which he named two players left at home as England's World Cup danger men.
Under the heading "Lockyer's England confession", the Brisbane five-eighth was quoted as saying: "Long can be deadly to watch and was Sculthorpe selected? Those two could be the key."
The tabloid said: "Cocky Darren Lockyer is so confident Australia will win the World Cup that he hasn't even checked who is in England's squad!"
Paul Sculthorpe recently announced his retirement and Sean Long has been brushed by selectors since he walked out on Great Britain and caught a plane home halfway through the 2006 Tri-Nations.
Lockyer admits in the story he does not know much about the England side, giving English fans ammunition for their claims Australians take little notice of the game outside their backyard.
On Friday, Australia coach Ricky Stuart spoke about the next World Cup being in eight years when in fact it is set down for 2013.
Lockyer told The Sun the Super League "seems to be getting better and better".

Still like the 'king' Wally Lewis's suggestion that NSW and QLD should be the Australian representative teams. Probably still be an all aussie final.
