Just a thread for appreciation and respect for our courageous captain Nathan Sharpe.
He is a true leader, he never gives up and the amount of work he puts into a game especially after being on the losing side week after week, but always have time to talk to media after the game and thank the crowd.
I know that all he wants is to give the crowd a win, 'cause we deserve it, but it doesn’t always go his way.
Hey, I want to win the lotto as well, but if it doesn’t happen, do I have to give up…..NO and that is the important thing.
Seeing him after tonight’s game (man of the match in a losing side) he was close to tears, but he’ll be out there next week and do it all over again.
So let’s do the same and be there for him as well, 'cause I think that keeps him ticking, beside the obvious love for the game and THE WESTERN FORCE
Keep doing what you’re doing, Sharpie, we love you and support you.

Well said tdevil.
What is there not to love about the big man. Played his heart out each and every week.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa

Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
Sharpe is an absolute legend. It's impossible to speak too highly of the man.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal:
it is the courage to continue that counts.
- Winston Churchill
Herculean effort tonight as always. Sharpie's an inspiration to his playing group andfan base. I just hope he stays on next year and beyond, as he's had to put up with a lot as Captain this year. You're a Legend!
Well I think you have all said it in the posts above, this man is a legend. He has the courage of a lion and a heart of gold. We could not have a better captain and leader. What a role model for young Pockock to learn from.
I just hope and pray that after his playing days he stays on with the Force in some capacity.
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
Sharpie is a legend. always driving forward with the ball, great line out catcher, and a truely fantastic bloke on/off the field. definitely a great captain and its hard to name anything wrong about that bloke!
Be There. Be Heard. Be The Force Behind The Force
I asked him if he intended to stay on in Perth when he eventually hangs up the "playing boots"...and he aswered a very emphatic "YES"..loves Perth, and would love to be part of growing the Force to greater heights, and respect the club deserves....GO SHARPIE....what a man, what a captain...what an all round fabulous guy..we are very lucky to have him....![]()

In hindsight, this thread is LOOOOOOOONG overdue......as are a couple of things.
we talked a while ago about the patron of TWF.......
Sharpe is yet to win TWF player of the year.......
I waited to speak with him after last night's game.....he said the ref did alright, he also told MiniGIGS that he'd tell some of the boys to come around our way because they all seem to go away from us....I don't doubt for a second he'll do that, he's such a bloody gentleman, all around good bloke and legend of the game, he is the glue that holds the Force together, and I'm confident that with Mitch announcing his non-renewal and all the upheaval changing head coach will bring Sharpie will be ther, keeping us strong, giving us something to cheer for and making our hearts swell.
I guess then he'll hand over the baton and walk quietly out of the door (because it seems he's not really about individual honous, all about the team)
I hope the next coach thinks the Force needs a specialist lineout coach......we sure don't want to lose our captain!
C'mon the![]()

Agree 100% with what has been said about the guy. My heart goes out to him having to front up to those interviews after the game![]()
