990am enters into the Western Force radio coverage

990am is proud to be the third radio station to offer coverage for Western Force games, with all games in Super 14 2007 to be covered on the network, with other sports covered including Perth Glory (ROFL at the reaction) WAFL Football and the Sandover Medal.

A release of the commentary team will be announced soon with the signal from 990am reaching everyone within the metro area and was one of the major reasons Force coverage has gone to 990am.

As last season, I will be giving you the heads up in the latest news on 990ams coverage as it comes to hand

The station looks forward to adding Super 14 coverage to its schedule and cementing itself as a leading sports network in the city.

During the WAFL season they tapped into the Great Southern.

I will get back to you on the links to regional stations, but it is a two way streak. The regional stations may not want to put the game to air.

Excellent news Egan. And Glory is certainly not a dirty word, although their recent perfomances might be described as such. A true sports person respects every code and its particular skills. Any futher inside news on the stadia(um) issue yet?

Just received news that 6GS will be providing coverage for country listeners in the Great Southern with another country station in the pipleline.

While unfortunately due to Super 14 rules, 990am will not be able to stream over the internet.

As a sometime coach I respect those who commit and try their best, it doesn't matter how good they are compared to others. If the best you've got is what you give, no one can ask for more.

I agree the Glory are not that great at present and I know that the players are distracted by issues they should not have to deal with. But soccer is still a great game and Glory will improve. Comparing WA soccer , a minor sport in a small country, with English soccer, a major sport in a large country (population-wise), is not really helpful, unless you want to take the piss, in which case it is perfectly acceptable.

To be perfectly honest, in my view the reason Australian rugby can match it with British rugby is because rugby is a secondary participator sport in most of the UK whereas it is a significant participator sport in those parts of Australia where the population is concentrated. That. and the fact that NZ and the Pacific Islands are so close, and their nationals know a good thing when they see it. Bit like you, eh Luke?

But yes, if you filter the thread, it is a 990am thread.

To recap, 990am will be covering all Super 14 games and will be relaying coverage to those in the Great Southern through 6GS (handy for those in Mt Barker on this forum)
