Went to see Palmyra play Wanneroo, close result, only two trys difference in a match where 16 trys were scored.
Both teams played expansive games, experimenting with combinations, so the match was like the curate's egg for both teams, good in parts and not so good in others.
If they play like that next game both sides will be disappointed at the outcome.
Of the Force roster, Battye played for Wanneroo and Manu played for Palmyra.
Wanneroo had a number of their regulars missing.
West's record of being unbeaten at Bennet park was lost when Cott scored 4 tries to 2.To be brutally honest if it was a comp game we woulda got rolled by 50.Lotsa work to be done. Please disregard previous posts bout Wests being the real deal this season.
Pull the other one Westie.
I wish it was a wind up Fulvio but I'm afraid it's the truth.Too many princess's
Only 4 trys to 2. Cott must have some goal kicker then, if they could knock 50 points up on you!
Actually Cott seem to have quietly built up a pretty reasonable squad, under the radar.
Don't worry too much Westie, if your guys got a kick up the proverbial for being individuals, as I presume you are saying, and still only lost by 2 trys to Cott they must be pretty good and won't make the same mistake twice.
Wanneroo had some very good players but they only seemed to have 15 or so of them. This could prove their Achilles heel as the season inevitably takes its toll.
Any news of the other trials?
By the way, a little bird with insider knowledge tells me there are a few concerned elders at Nedlands about the way their season is shaping up. I suggest if any club hasn't yet contracted its better players it better do so sharpish.

Kala V Rocky.
Scrappy affair in both prems and 2nds with inexperienced referees contributing to high levels of frustration. At one point Kala had a player red carded for talking to a teammate which the referee interpreted as dissent. Just bizarre refereeing.
Anyway, on the rugby front, prems finished either 5 to 4 to Rocky or 4 all draw. Not sure sorry was a busy day and the memories hazy. Kala were very flat and struggled to find the same rythym of last week, with individualism and frustration big contributors. Discipline was not great either.
Rocky were good for the first 20 min period but didn't threaten much after that. Their new 10/12 combo provided most of their best opportunities. Surprising considering how much time the 12 spent playing with his hair.
The game was pretty much a free for all at ruck time which ruined a lot of the game as a spectacle, again due to inexperienced referees.
2nds finished 6 or 7 to 1 to Kala. Same referees, same problems.

The way I see it so far this season is going to be pretty even between third to ninth spot on the ladder.
Rockingham appear to be the big improvers with Nedlands Uni and Wanneroo going slightly backwards and Kalamunda stepping up.
Palmyra and Wests are marking time from last season with Associates and Cottesloe secure in the top two.
Perth unfortunately will struggle.
Has Cott still got that Turkey of a coach?
Rocky / kala
Maybe kala struggled to get rythem and go forward as they were getting tackled this week
Refereeing was off but for both sides
Player red carded returned 5min later so common sence prevailed there
Good hit out for both sides with lots for both sides to improve on should be good clash in round 1

Player sent off was a prop. Referee allowed another prop on to make scrums contested and allow a 15 v 15 contest. As we had no other props available because of no shows, the same prop was allowed back on. As you said, common sense prevailed.

Very interesting.
He is by no means an inexperienced ref. He is, however, a very low tolerance ref, as many teams found out last year. The value of players learning the tolerance levels of a ref very early in the game seem to have been lost in this pre-season fixture, by the looks of these posts.

You haven't seen or played many games in WA, have you Kala Fan?
