It's the sight Canberra rugby fans have for three years been craving Matt Giteau back at Canberra Stadium in ACT Brumbies colours.
Giteau returned to his favourite Australian ground yesterday dressed in his new uniform for the first time since agreeing to rejoin the Brumbies for the next two Super 14 seasons.
The Wallabies flyhalf has spent the past two days in Canberra, assisting in advertising campaigns for some of the sponsors that were pivotal in financing his return home from Perth.
The 26-year-old trained in the Brumbies' gym on Thursday, re-acquainting himself with the facilities he once used on a daily basis.
And while he may be the best rugby player in the world, Giteau admitted he felt slightly out of his comfort zone. ''I was like a kid on his first day of school, I was a bit nervous, a bit shy, but it was great to get back there and train and catch up with some of the boys,'' Giteau told The Canberra Times.
''Some old memories came flooding back which was nice. I had some great times here at the stadium and at the training ground and just Canberra in general and I'm excited about being back.''
