well i cant be assed posting every article, but heres a summary at least
Barnes favourite for Captain, the leadership group was chosen and it includes Sean Hardman, Greg Holmes, Berrick Barnes, James Horwill, Van Humphries and Daniel Braid. Horwill will retain the captain title whilst out injured but Barnes is expected to be fill in captain until he comes back.
Horwill is progressing faster then expected and is expected back for Rd5 against the Sharks
Reds just had a 4 day training camp down at Casuarina Beach which is in NSW!.. they had a open day where plenty of juniors turned out and Barnes was a favourite apparently
Reds are also using Former South African IBF light heavyweight champion Philip "No Deal" Holiday as part of there fitness and endurance training. According to him former Highlanders backrower Ezra Taylor and former Brumby hooker Saia Faingaa are quite good boxers.
Reds have continued there 2008 gesture of plenty of open days for the juiors, they had one on the Gold Coast on Friday and then had another one tonight at Ballymore, i was going to take my nephews but i went to the gym instead.
Only 2 weeks away before the Reds first trial match against the Waratahs in Toowoomba, which actually coincides when i am due back at work in Toowoomba so i might be in attendance.
Rumour also has it several of QLD Rugby's richest supporters were seen having lunch at the Caxton, could have something to do with recruiting a high profile player for 2010.
also not exactly the Reds, but QRU related
The QRU is set to announce a pre-season competition for the QLD Premier Comp which will include teams form Townsville, Cairns, Toowoomba, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Brisbane.
Also Townsville are set to join the QLD Premier Comp in 2010 which will be a massive step forward for the QLD competition.
Ballymore is on the other side of brisbane, and it started at 5:30pm which would have meant peakhour
thanks for the constructive input
I read Horwill’s has the pins out of his foot and is now waiting on healing time, Foot injuries are sometimes slow healers, I hope we see him back on the field in the first month of the S14…
I was just having a laugh sorry - got my grumpy pants onthanks for the constructive input![]()
I hope the Reds do almost as well as the Force, better than the Waratahs and put the kiwi's and boks in their place.
I got a bunch of family in Toowoomba - I'd try and convince someone to go to the trial and txt back a few reports, unfortuantely they aren't real rugby folkWith a premier comp starting though, the brother may get interested...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
^^ the Sunshine Coast have had a side in the QLD Premier Grade for the last couple of years, Sunshine Coast Stingrays, they are pretty crap but are slowly getting better, have one of the best forward packs in the comp these days, the backs are absolute shithouse but.
did you even read my initial post???

What? all teams have more then just the principle and naming rights sponsors, some teams give them token names like that as well.
Of course there would be some kind of advertising agreement involved as well, requiring some of the players to do promotional work or pose for advirtisments and the like.
Its just like Vodaphone been the 'official telecommunications sponsor' to the Western Force'
Communications specialists Comscentre sponsors QR Reds
Queensland-based communications specialists Comscentre has become the newest sponsor of the QR Reds, signing up as a Major Sponsor.
