Palmyra took out the plate competition at the 7's yesterday, and on the way defeated the Japanese National 7's side Samurais 24 to 12 before taking on Randwick in the final. Palmyra scored first,but the Galloping Greens soon gained the lead to be 14-7 at half time. early in the second half Randwick scored again to take it to 21-7 and they looked comfortable.But they didn't count on Palmyra regrouping , and a superb try from Scott Turnbull gave them hope at 21-14. In the last seconds of the half Big Nems, Nems Momo's even bigger nephew,made a powerful break down the sideline to pass to his uncle who scored out wide. A prodigious kick from the 18 year old Wonder Kind tied the score 21 all for a futher 5 minute sudden death playoff.
Once again the youngster was given possession from a turnover and charged to the line leaving several Wicks defenders strewn on the ground on the way.Palmyra 25, Randwick 21, and WA has bragging rights over NSW club 7's at least until next year.
