New Waratahs Head of performance - two horse race?

Is RA waiting for a decision on the new Tahs Head of performance to announce dispersal of Rebels players? According to this article Nick Stiles is a front runner and if selected may convince majority of Rebels players to agree to go to the Tahs.

welve months out from hosting the British and Irish Lions and the Waratahs are in no-man’s land, but the NSW board will try to rectify their shambolic planning ahead of 2025 by naming a head of performance by week’s end.

It’s believed former Wallaby and Rebels general manager Nick Stiles, as well as ex-Fiji international turned Wallabies slayer and Flying Fijians coach Simon Raiwalui, are the two front-runners.

It’s understood Harlequins director of performance Billy Millard withdrew from consideration while Andy Friend couldn’t commit to a full-time role.

Just had an OMG moment realising Raiwalui is younger than me

Would be surprised if he would leave his new role so soon.

You'd think Stiles would be the front runner if he were able to influence the Rebels players to go with him.

The Force really does need an increase in our salary cap if were are ever going to put a really competitive team together.

McKellar in the frame for Waratahs job after sudden Tigers departure

...............Australian rugby officials have maintained contact with McKellar at Leicester. The 47-year-old is also known to be keen to return home with his family. ( gee; I wonder why?? )

"Sources speaking on the condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to discuss the matter publicly told this masthead..."

    Find them.
    Sack them.

"...after McKellar recently outlined his long-term vision for the club to the board, differences in philosophy reportedly emerged and the club elected to head in a new coaching direction."

That would make him perfect for the Tahs then.

I would have thought that to be best covered in the job interview.

Not talking about Mckeller, who's proved he can coach well; but I often wonder if these interviews & reviews are sometimes just a mutual bullshit session where the job ends up going to the bloke who can speak the most corporate gobbledygook rather than the one who is a good coach.

I think the "Reviews" at least are a box ticking exercise for a pre-determined outcome.
What's going to sway the average Reviewer more, a seasons worth of performance (or lack thereof) or a one hour "Vision Statement"?

if that's your chosen strategy, I think you'll need to sack everyone at RA headquarters Burgs. It's a house of cards there and everybody has their pet journalist to leak stuff to.

I think we've all been calling for the swamp at RA to be drained since 2017, however I'm not convinced that any set of replacements would be any better.

I notice raiwului is “head of performance” and not the usual “head of high performance”. They obviously don’t want to set him up to fail
