ARU welcomes Network Ten's coverage of Spring Tour
October 13, 2006 - 1:18pm
Story by: ARU
The Australian Rugby Union has welcomed the announcement by Network Ten that it will broadcast the Qantas Wallabies' four Test matches throughout the Spring Tour.
Network Ten will broadcast the Tests live in almost all Australian markets, with replays scheduled for fans who prefer to catch the action the next morning.
"We welcome Network Ten back into the Rugby fold and look forward to working with them to maximise the exposure of the Wallabies across Australia," ARU CEO and Managing Director Gary Flowers said.
"Free-to-air coverage is crucial for our game, so it is great to know Network Ten will be going live into nearly every market.
"The Test against Ireland will be live nationally, while the Wales and Italy Tests will be live in all markets except Perth where there will be a short delay.
"The Scotland Test is live in Sydney and Melbourne with short delays in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth to allow for Network Ten's coverage of the V8 Supercars.
"Having a replay the next morning is also good news for Rugby fans who do not want to sit up late or get up during the night to watch the Tests live.
"This is a good result for Rugby."
