So I have had this prompt for however long, and the window inviting me to download it for some time now.
Whom in here has upgraded to Windows 10 - as opposed to acquired a new computer with it already on?
What's your opinion on it? Should I download/upgrade? What are the benefits vs negatives?
Discuss.
Upgrade use the new mail app but not edge. Stick with chrome
Also if you don't like it just back up and format it from your recovery drive.
What new mail app? Does it transfer everything from Outlook?
...and I use Firefox as my browser of choice...
Just bought a new tower with 10 ready to go. Was a bit concerned as I'm not exactly Windows literate but it's OK
You can still use Firefox, edge is just IEX re branded.
All your files stay there as do your emails. But I like the new mail app & 10 overall. It's a lot cleaner than 8 and more streamlined. And doesn't jump back & forth from tablet mode when you hit the wrong button

I think it's easier and nicer to use. Also brought new life into my 4.5 year old laptop. Even though I keep it updated & formatted it was starting to show it's age. but 10 seems to have revitalised it.
Best advice is to update and try it for a month or so. If you don't like it, restore back to 7 or 8 from your recovery drive.

7 will be unsupported soon, since Windows 8 (and 8.1) is the new vista, you will be required to upgrade soon or find yourself at the mercy of every teenage virus author and undocumented error that Microsoft haven't found.
If you think bugs no longer exist in 7 after all the service packs and windows updates.....well you don't know Microsoft very well!
