Radike Samo will return to Australian rugby after joining the Melbourne Rebels for the upcoming Super Rugby season.
Samo, who made 23 Test appearances for the Wallabies, last played Super Rugby with Queensland in 2013 before linking with Japanese Top League club Kintetsu Liners.
He was a key member of the Reds squad that lifted the Super Rugby trophy in 2011.
"I am very keen to give Super Rugby one last shot and I feel I have a lot to offer," Samo said in a Rebels statement.
"I am really excited about coming to Melbourne. I'm also very grateful for the opportunity to join the Victorian Rugby community. There's a big Pacific Islander Rugby family in Melbourne, and I'm looking forward to becoming part of that."
Samo will join former Reds team-mates Scott Higginbotham, Mike Harris and Dom Shipperley at the Rebels and he adds depth to Tony McGahan's back row stocks in Melbourne.
He previously played for the Brumbies before stints in France and Japan.

How old is he? I am waiting for some news that if he has a son that plays rugby, we could have first father and son combo take to the field in an S15 match!!!
I thought their numbers where finalised, has someone dropped out of the initial squad?
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
ARU said all squads were to be finalised by 31 December.......if you are located on the west coast that is.........

The Reds have announced that James Slipper will take over as captain for the 2015 #SuperRugby season, with Rob Simmons and Karmichael Hunt to serve as his deputies http://bit.ly/17NOTCE
I bet he's still got that special something. Just hope he doesn't bring it out playing against us.
May the FORCE be with you!
Sir Nathan Sharpe, wasn't playing at 38 was he?
Say Radike's partner had a son when Radike was 18 years old. Radike Jnr would be 20 ......
Absolutely great guy - love to see him playing another 10 years. Actually be good to see Hodgo at 7 and Radike 6 for the World cup.
In 2008 both Andy and Owen Farrell took the field against the force. Father and son.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Sir Nathan :
February 26, 1978 (age 36).... so no he wasn't playing at 38years old![]()
