Matt Giteau misses selection in Australia's Rugby World Cup squad
MATT Giteau's Australian Test career is over after he was omitted from the Wallabies' 30-man World Cup squad.
Giteau was informed by Wallabies’ coach Robbie Deans he would not be playing in his third World Cup after the Wallabies squad arrived back from South Africa this afternoon.
Giteau seemed resigned to being left out of the Wallabies’ final 30-man World Cup squad this afternoon when he tweeted: “Thank u ballboys, thank u linesman! That's it...”
The Wallabies will name their World Cup squad tomorrow morning at 10am.
Giteau, 28, will join French Top 14 club Toulon in November.
He has played 92 Tests for the Wallabies, including 10 World Cup matches.
His last cap came in Australia’s infamous 32-23 defeat to Samoa at Telstra Stadium last month.

it wasn't form, nor was it age .. it was purely the attitude!
Chuck Norris has the greatest Poker-Face of all time. He won the 1983 World Series of Poker, despite holding only a Joker, a Get out of Jail Free Monopoly card, a 2 of clubs, 7 of spades and a green #4 card from the game Uno.
While he was full of attitude and what not, he is far above the player that McCabe is, and AAC, Robbie hope you do not have to regret what could be a HUGE mistake. Hope we have not just lost the World Cup before we even get to NZ
Did not like him as a person but he would have been one of the first backs I would have taken withouty sparing a thought.
Simon Cron: “People talk about winning and losing all the time and they are critical, but there’s a process to get into and it’s the ability to stay present, do your job and execute skills under pressure.”
He is now predictably unpredictable and the opposition have him, or more so the Wallabies with him running the plays, pegged ...
Dear Lord, if you give us back Johnny Cash, we'll give you Justin Bieber.
A pity but whatever you think of Gitts he served the Force well for a while and has been a good servant to Australia. He does not deserve to go this year but Good Luck in France.
I'd put a fair bit of vcash on Giteau rejoining the Wallabies as an injury replacement before the end of the tournament. Book anyone?
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Don't let the door hit you on the esra on the way out...the committee has been officially disbanded.
Incidentally thanks for some good years of service to Wallabies and Force.
coz Stone Cold says so
Brendon Cannon scooped me on this story.
The hissy fit in the sheds after the Samoa game from MG proved to be his undoing in the end.
Who was the hissy fit directed at? Deans? The team?
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Wait? Hissy fit? What happened there?

Greg Martin among others.
i bet he's still in the squad. Has it been officially announced or is all this just from his stupid twitter message?
