Exciting Wallabies full-back Kurtley Beale has been lured from the NSW Waratahs to play for the Melbourne Rebels in the Super Rugby competition for the next two seasons.
Beale, who has been playing at five-eighth and full-back for the Waratahs, will officially announce the move on Thursday, Fairfax reported.
His move will come as major blow to the Waratahs with Beale going from strength to strength with the franchise during his five years with NSW.
He completed a strong 2010 as one of the Wallabies' best and was a finalist in the International Rugby Board's player of the year awards.
The Rebels are also reportedly lining up Western Force star James O'Connor and Wallabies fly half and Queensland Reds star Quade Cooper.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa

What a coup for the Rebels! Phark! I really thought we might have been in with a chance.... maybe we were....
First step for the Tahds to work towards the proposed salary cap....
likely JOC to follow i reckon![]()
The Rebels are definitely the club with momentum
Remember a few years back when the Force broke similar news with the signing of one M.Giteau to be the saviour of the new team in town and to help attract other aussie talent over west.............careful what you wish for Rebels!

I do seem to remember it was the end of the world, a stop had to be put to it, it would be the death of Australian rugby etc etc. This time it all seems to be accepted by a shrug, with not a mention that they announced the deal complete with third party deals having also freely admitted to putting agents and sponsors together at a Victorian rugby function. Certainly doesn't seem to be any mention of redefining contracting protocols or any rush to investigate....
About the only up side to the Rebels signing quality players would be the freeing up of marquee's who may want another year in the sun.
