QLD vs Cheetahs this Sunday
Barnes(cork), Hynes(knee) and Hardman(archillies tendon) were all casualties of the Stormers match but are all expected to be back. On top of that Hugh McMenimen has said he is up for selection are missing the previous 2 matches due to family reasons. Ezra Taylor is also back from injury, but he play his way through the QLD XV vs NSW XV match.
Also it would appear i made a massive stuff up, i didnt realise that the Reds match was on Sunday, i just assumed it would be on Saturday or Friday, now i have already double booked to go to a mates b'day on Sunday and he doesnt have Foxtel![]()
you will to excuse yourself early,to attend urgent family business
McMenimen will be back this week!

I would personally rather Connor starting in front of Vaalu and Genia in front of Lucas, but oh well.
Reds will win and hopefully will win well, but whats with the Sunday game?

Hugh McMenimen has returned to the side, he is still dealing with a family illness, so its inspirational stuff to see him turn up. Also Ioane will remain in the centres since it would appear Turinui is probably going to get surgery and be out injured for the season.
Give thanks for small mercies, makes selection time far less awkward.
Doesn't say too much for their rating of Anthony F if they are selecting a specialist Winger at #13 instead of a Brumbies capped Centre though.
A major bonus with Hugh back though, should be going in fairly optimistic I would have thought.

yeah, it is kind of a blessing in disguise, i have always said that at best Turinui would be out of the starting 15 by mid-way through this season. In saying that i would still prefer him be on the bench and providing depth rather then out injured completely.
Anthony Faingaa is a inside centre and makeshift 5/8, he is definetly to small for outside centre.
I am suprised by Ioane though, he seems to have really stepped up since the end of the 2008 S14 season, the wallaby tour and deans mentoring seems to have done wonders for his play.
QAS Reds 2nd XV:
1 Ben Daley (Reds/Gold Coast Breakers)
2 James Hanson (Reds/University)
3 Jack Kennedy (Reds/Souths)
4 Martin Perkins (GPS)
5 Robert Simmons (Reds/Sunnybank)
6 Cameron Bracewell (Gold Coast Breakers)
7 Andrew Shaw (QAS Reds Academy/Brothers)
8 Jake Schatz (Academy/Sunnybank)
9 Brendan McKibbin (Academy/Brothers)
10 Jono Lance (Academy/University)
11 Aidan Toua (Reds/Easts)
12 Ben Tapuai (Academy/Gold Coast Breakers)
13 Charlie Fetoai (Reds/Sunnybank)
14 Albert Vuli Vuli (Souths)
15 Rod Davies (Reds/GPS)
16 James Charalambous (Academy/Easts)
17 James Slipper (Academy/Gold Coast Breakers)
18 Ezra Taylor (Reds/University)
19 Mitch Francis (Gold Coast Breakers)
20 Curtis Franks (Easts)
21 Brett Gillespie (Academy/Brothers)
22 Billy Ngawini (Gold Coast Breakers)
Interesting points, Billy Ngawini is a former Gold Coast Titan, for those in the know he is actually a very good leage player and will more then likely make a name for himself in union, only defected at the start of this year.
This is a very good QAS XV side, it has the same makeup as the one which demolised the Force Academy a few weeks ago, many of these players will progress on to being regular Reds and Wallabies IMHO.
Phil Mooney is getting the Reds set up very well in my opinion. I believe this is the makings of a very successful Reds era.
This is exactly what was needed after the Eddie Jones disaster.
That 2ndXV Front Row certainly has future stars written all over it!
Charlie Fetoai would be another perhaps a little mystified at ommission from #13, I thought he had played some pretty good Rugby there last year or two?
