Could I ask a question of our refs?

What is the decision of a player, from his own in goal kicks the the ball out in touch in goal?

TG - if I'm thinking the reason behind your question, then it's the kick that ended the game. Usually, once the siren sounds the game ends the next time the ball goes dead unless there's a penalty awarded.

similar question - in the Crusaders/Cheetahs game one of the saders (might have been Hamilton) got to a ball that had gone into the in goal area and he went to ground it but actually put his elbow in to touch before grounding it... the ref didn't see it though and played on as though it was grounded correctly. I thought a 5m scrum could have been appropriate there..

Yes, well I just anwered the question, wasn't able to read between the lines as well as JK could. Sorry...

But yes, once time is up, play continues until next time the ball is dead, so, if you are holding a slender lead and have the pill, put it into touch anywhere you like. Just don't give away a penatly as the ball is not yet dead.

Listening to the cretin ref the Lions game and watching him stuff up was just too much though - anyone want to buy some (slightly) used 'sports ears'?

I'd be interested - I've dropped hints to my nearest & dearest as an excellent present for my birthday. But that's in July and S14 is finished by then..
