..BACKLINE trio Ben Tapuai, Dom Shipperley and Rod Davies have re-signed with the Queensland Reds until the end of the 2014 Super Rugby season.
Their retention further boosts Queensland's stocks, with the Reds having already secured the ongoing services of playmakers Will Genia and Quade Cooper, star winger Digby Ioane, utility back Ben Lucas and centre Anthony Faingaa.
"Ben, Dom and Rod have all produced amazing results in our rugby program, so it's extremely pleasing to retain their services heading into what will be the peak of their careers," Reds coach Ewen McKenzie said.
"Our entire squad is voting with their feet and choosing to stay in Queensland and we'll return a more experienced and stronger group next season."
The re-signing of 23-year-old centre Tapuai was forecast by The Courier-Mail last month.
Shipperley, 21, scored eight tries for the Reds during this year's Super Rugby campaign, and played in every minute of every match.
Fellow winger Davies, 23, has his season cut short by a hamstring injury and recently underwent a shoulder reconstruction.

How do they afford it? Or do the players love the Reds so much that they play for peanuts?
All three a fringe Wallabies. The Reds probably make the argument that they have a greater chance of making the Wallabies playing for the Reds than they do elsewhere e.g. Perth or Melbourne. Since match payments are around 11k a game and there are about 14 tests a year, there is a chance they could get up to 100k or so extra as well as possible future ARU top ups by staying with a winning team.
The problem is that shit players look better playing for a good team and good players look less good when their team can't get their shit together. Personally, I think Alfie Mafi = Dom Shipperley.
Deans is a knob.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Geez, thats a surprise.
Wheres the sarcasm thingie?
Give me an "R"
Give me an "orting"
What have you got?
...... only joking. But fu*k, Link could sell sand to the Sheiks!
Lol always going to be those who are critical...
QLD went through a lot to get where they are today..
Why move if you're not going to be any better off by doing so? The Reds made the finals and look like doing so next season. The Brumbies are predicted to implode, the Waratahs are basket cases, the Rebels are in Melbourne. That leaves......
Surprised Davies stayed to be honest, he is going to struggle for game time next year with CFS, Ioane, Morahan and Shipperly all showing good form in 2012..
Suspect Toua will be cut, highly talented but just too injury prone..
