Ospreys Rugby can confirm that Shane Williams has agreed to a move to Japan where he will play for Mitsubishi Dynaboars
How good would that signature have been....
He brought the curtain down on his Ospreys playing career in style less than three weeks ago, scoring two tries in the PRO12 Final win in Dublin over Leinster to take his career tally with the region to 57 in 141 games, but has now opted to extend his playing days for one more season.
While Shane had previously agreed to taking up an ambassadorial role with the region for next season, taking into account his fantastic service to the Ospreys we understand that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Shane and his family to experience a new culture and life in a new country and will not stand in his way.
We wish them the best of luck in Japan and look forward to welcoming Shane back to Ospreylia upon completion of his playing commitments, when he will continue to represent the region with distinction off the field.
He's 35 now, a bit old now for Super Rugby..
Just like Brad Thorn??

Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
Now we're talking !
He's exactly the kind of player we need to avoid. A player at the end of his career, prone to injury yet because of his high profile can still demand big bucks. The only time we should be recruiting players well past their use by date, is when we can get them for a song.
Have to agree with Zed
Given the amount of time I have read this season that we should be planing for the long term and recruiting a 35 year old who is bringing down the curtain on his career does not fit.
All this would do is get a couple more Welsh fan boys throught the gates
Theres already a couple of Boyos on our bus
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
