Dying moment of the game....
1 point behind.........
Pigs have got us into a good position.......
what will we do?
Why? We'll try to push a bunch of rabid Kiwis backwards........
Will they let us?
As we all know the Kiwis defend thier line as if it were a sheep on heat, if we can push em over it will take an eternity and we might get beaten by the siren....
it did............
Siren sounds 'Hoooooooooooooot'
We go "whoops", may be we should a tried something else.......
Good work Pigs, bad choice Force!
What would you teach your U14's to do in this situation if you were a coach?
to go for the try. because if you stuff up, which is more likely then not you will look like a tool. there was no way the force could hav had a drop goal attempt. no one was composed, the backline was scrambling.Originally Posted by Dingo20

That what i was saying! Giteau was in posistion and somebody fumbled the ball or lost it.
Every forwards dream is to become a back...
Good point fella's. We also had a kickable penalty on the 50 minute mark, but who would have guessed how close it would have been!
Still to major points to consider
1. The Western Force is here in Perth (not Melbourne)
2. 8th isn't a bad start to the season and the Stormers are hopeless!
Brother Gallagher I hear you
Don't want to sound negative, I'm as pro-Force as any bastard......but.....Originally Posted by no.8

Depends how easily pleased we are.
And that also refers to the standard of play on Friday night.
As for The Stormers are hopeless.
How many games have they won???
And us???
All I'm suggesting is to try and keep things in perspective.
It's a bit like the freo Dockers Vs the Eagles.
I HATE the eagles, with a frigging vengeance.
I HATE the eagles, with a frigging passion.
BUT.
How many premierships have they won, as opposed to the Dockers??
BASTARDS, the lot of them
I will agree on that point. I was born in Cape Town (home of the Stormers)Originally Posted by no.8
in 1996 they played there first super12 as Western Province and did so bad in their first year they didn't qualify for super12 in 1997.
In 1998 they returned as Stormers and ended 9th with 3 wins.
They are so useless, that they are getting 2 new locks for next Saturday...... One for the front gate and one for the back gate, so Spectators don't leave at half time
"Remember lads, rugby is a team game; all 14 of you make sure you pass the ball to ..........."
Yep, I can't believe they didn't have a shot at goal, rather than go the lineout. Shep was crap in game 1 last year (at goal-kicking) and didn't have too much of it in this match - this would have been the confidence booster he needed.Originally Posted by no.8
And if all else failed, 22 restart and we get the ball back again!
TAKE THE POINTS SON!
I'm with you Mr Hasbeen & Ecky. "How easily pleased". If the more than kickable penalty had been taken we would be 7 on the ladder and that is U14's.
8th on the ladder ain't too bad when you've never been higher than 12th in your short history!
From where I was sitting (could be wrong) but ref never kept kiwis onside, meaning they were up on us too quick to allow for a shot at goal.
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy
WARNING!, ref's perspective follows:Originally Posted by Squiggs

The ref has both touch judges to help him, with offsides in particular, as they are wired up and can talk to each other at the press of a button. So, even if the ref isn't (or doesn't appear to be) looking at the offside backs, his TJ's should be helping him and calling it. One must conclude that they weren't offside.
Or the TJ's were crap...
TJ's were crap...they got involved at the wrong time, ref was going to give us a penalty with a couple minutes to go around the 10 meter line in Highlanders territory, instead the TJ gets involved and we end up getting a penalty 5 or so meters in our own territory for a late tackle! ahhhhh! Give us the one in their half!!!![]()

still no excuse for not kicking from the penalty or drop goaling off the back of the lineout
this is the forwards fault mainly for continuing with the line out drive, once or twice mabey but not over and over and over again. should have got our backs running at pace onto the ball if it was tooo risky for the Drop Goal attempt
