Match of the Round: Nedlands 12 defeated Cottesloe 0 at Patersons Stadium, Subiaco
Cottesloe suffered its first defeat of the Pindan Premier Grade season with a 12-0 loss to Nedlands in the curtain-raiser of the Emirates Western Force v British & Irish Lions game at Patersons Stadium on Wednesday evening.
In a match befitting the competition’s top two defensive sides, neither could capitalise on their try-scoring opportunities with scoring left solely to the boot of Nedlands flyhalf Fred Tuua, who kicked four penalty goals.

There are 3 types of people in this world, those that can count and those that can't
Kala V UWA
UWA were able to feed off Kala mistakes for most of the game with defensive errors the main culprit. The boys were flat and the lack of line speed and system errors were obvious early. The lethargy also contributed to too many handling errors and kicks not hitting the intended target areas. UWA were able to shoot out to a 22 - 11 halftime lead on the back of soft defence and 1 horrible bounce of the ball.
Kala stuck tight in the 2nd half and were able to claw back a try from getting back to their systems. A UWA penalty made it 25-18. With UWA slowing down and Kala's sheer persistence Kala were able to pounce on a charge down to level the scores 25 all with virtually the last play of the game.
