Just a quick word about the the awards night. Firstly it was a another pretty slick Western Force show. They are all very well run, ably assisted by Burswood. Our table of 8 met at Paddy Hannans at 6 thirtish for a pre show pint then off to the ballroom and we are on table 84 of 85. Im happy to report that no evil Tooheys beer was drunk on our table except for 1 stubbie that i saw Jedi chuck down his throat. Goundreys Cab Sav, Shiraz and champagne was the preferred tipple(or gargle) for the table. Evening was hosted by Tim Gossage with speeches from CEO O"Meara, John Welbourn, Sharpie and Brendan Cannon. Mick Colliss from 6pr let rip with a very funny poem also. Majority of players in attendance except Spanner who remained on the east coast nursing a sore back. Cannons speech was particularly good with him talking about his rugby life and on being a inaugural Force signing.
There was 2 auctions on the night...Sheps jersey and the ball from our first home win and Cannons signed jersey. Sheps went for $21000 and Cannons $9500. These figures could be bit rubbery as i was getting a tad rubbery myself. Tana Umunga also signed Sheps jersey.
Vince Sorenti was the guest comedian for the night and went over a treat.
Freddie Mercury was raised from the dead and made a special guest appearance and sang a couple of tunes then buggered off.
I must say that all the players are very easy going and are happy to have a chat and a photo taken.Plenty of TWF cards given out. Obviously the boys were having today off as plenty of them were travelling well. AJ and Takiari drinking dry ginger ale bottles chock full of rum!
Night finishes up at midnight so we do the right thing and go to the casino.
Give Coach $50 so we can break the two up ring. Didnt quite eventuate!
Went down to Allure for the post show function that went to 2am with plenty of players there and plenty of shooters going down.
Mrs Tlh was doing her best to donate my hard earned at the pokies so done to right thing and left. Got home at 2 20am after a great night.
Photos posted up in the Gallery.

Looks like it would have been a great night, maybe next year...
"Bloody oath we did!"
Nathan Sharpe, Legend.
Just remembered that Minister for his nose in the trough and Sport, Kobelke wasnt at the awards night. Very unusual cause he is seen enjoying himself at all free corporate shows. He must of realised that the rectangular stadium issue may of been mentioned and it was by O"Meara, Wobber and even the comedian.

Ruck Me, Maul Me, Make Me Scrum!
Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
Fantastic night (shame about the company though)...was well impressed with the organisation of it and the quality of the speeches, although Canno was obviously going for a root by the way he was buttering up his wife.
I haven't been to any of the AFL bashes but I suspect this would have crapped all over them.
Thanks to Rugby WA for putting on such a great night and I will be first in line for a seat at next years.
Bonus was I broke even at the casino and wasn't in the shit when I got home.
Oh and the other bonus was AJ didn't bash mme when I hung some shit on him....cool dude.
Just happy to be here

Great pics, TLH! You all scrub up mighty fine.
And Sheps looks even better in a suit than on the pitch, if that's possible! I don't blame Mrs TLH for going weak at the knees![]()
