    No rectangular stadium

    http://www.news.com.au/perthnow/stor...40-948,00.html

Its almost as if the Government simply doesn't care about rugby. Lets hope a private sponsor will come forward to assist with a redevelopment of Members Equity so this huge oval white elephant gathers dust every S14 season.

    what an absolute disgrace

I am disgusted, and I don't even live in Perth.

The time has come my friends, the time has come to make some noise.

Lets show the people of WA that there is more to sport in WA then just Australian Rules Football.

We need to co-ordinate a response to this. We need to be smart and we need to be disciplined.

The time has come to stand up, not only for the Western Force, but for all potential users of a Rectangular Stadium in Western Australia.

Despite the obvious negative aspect, the oval stadia is going to incorporate retractable seating. So the Force will have a better stadia then what it has at the moment with any construction.

This conclusion does not surprise me. But as I said, the government does not have to listen to the taskforce, at the end of the day, nothing is guaranteed to be built.

Two years, $1.5mill and no result. I want in on a job like that

It will take more than Daylight poxy Saving to get WA out of the dark ages when we have leaders(?) like ours.

Museum? What the bloody hell has that got to do with this anyway?

Moveable seating to bring rugby & soccer fans closer to the game... mightn't be all bad... maybe...

IF the stadium is built with a steep slope and the moveable seats are able to be moved right up close to the touch line it could work, maybe.

I honestly don't see how it would work. 1. It's not rectangular, so BLECH! 2. Won't the traffic be horrendous? (I mean, I'm sure they've looked at it, but I can't picture it).

It might be ok .. retractable seating would make it the right shape.. so what would be wrong with that ? May end up getting a Tri-Nations game here if it seats 60,000!!

If it comes down to having the above stadium or staying at Subi then I'll choose this plan!!

May be good for test matches, but I'm pretty sure they won't 'retract' the seating every other week during Super 14 season ...

The East Perth location is one location where the new museum may have been put. This has been around for many years.

    Righto, here's the plan.
Let them build at East Perth, meanwhile Union keeps growing.
Once they have finished with Subi the corporates can slip in, buy that off the WAFC and build a Suncorp 55k there in time for Perth to compete for some International event, easy......
