"NSW Waratahs coach Rob Penney says his side needs "a bit of love" after record losses in consecutive weeks have left them shattered and him answering questions about his future.
The Brumbies scored nine tries in a 61-10 flogging in Canberra on Saturday, while the Queensland Reds also notched their biggest Super Rugby win against the Waratahs in a 41-7 triumph last week to open the domestic season.
The 2014 Super Rugby champions are without more than 1,500 caps thanks to mass departures over the past two seasons and will be missing injured captain Jake Gordon for at least the next month."

The important thing now is forto keep them feeling that way. The last thing we want is for them to feel better by winning their next match.
We need to turn the screw even tighter next week!!

If we don’t beat both the Tahs and the Rebels twice each this season, I will be very, very disappointed.

Even though they were flogged big time the young Tahs stayed in the fight for a long time. Our blokes will need to have their attitude right next week.
The Ponies were just awesome last night. The speed at which they continually reposition themselves on attack, using the full width is great viewing. They also showed any casual viewers what a weapon a dominant scrum can be. The Ch 9 crew did a good job pointing those things out for them too.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
Makes me think that the Force actually played pretty good against the Brums, considering it was only their 1st run. They were cerainly in with a chance of winning if not for their own foibles & a blow happy ref who spent more time proving how unbiased he could be.
I agree. The Force generally matched the Brumbies in scrum and line-out. Our maul defence was spot on. It was our discipline and lack of penetration that held us back. A couple fewer penalties (including Thrush's on the try-line) and it would have gone down to the wire. A lot of the penalties were just bone-headed and not reflective of pressure applied. We probably (hopefully) won't play like that again soon. We also have the advantage of arguably the best depth in the competition. The longer we play, the less likely we are to be derailed by injuries.
I think the Brumbies are a level above us, but just the one (and three above the Tahs).

Our attack needs to be much more incisive than it was against the Brumbs.

Surprised the result in Reds v Rebels game was so close. I didn’t see the game - was it as tight as the score line suggests?

huge amount of knock-ons and 20+ Penalties in the first half.
Rebels led the score for 90% of the match. And had a penalty kick after the siren for the win. Missed.

You couldn't really say it wasn't tight with a scoreline like that, but I don't think the scoreline reflected the difference between the two teams. The Rebels never particularly threatening on attack. There defence was pretty good. They pushed the limits a lot and should have been yellow carded at least once for all that. It was pretty poor refereeing on that front. They were kept in the game by the Reds dreadful discipline and a combination of poor tactics/decision-making and poor handling.

And rebels were smart enough to kick for post at every opportunity.you can cover up a shitty ass attack by knowing your attack is shitty assed and playing accordingly

Tahs stand out player Carlo Tizzano .....
He did get caught out a couple of times on defense but that was mainly due to the Tahs scrum getting belted; most notably in the Nic White try. Other than that he made multiple effort on effort tackles and had some good carries. He's sure got a motor on him and I'd love to see him in a better colour blue.
