Sept. 21 (Bloomberg) -- The New York Giants silenced more than 100,000 fans by beating the Dallas Cowboys 33-31 on a 37- yard field goal by Lawrence Tynes as time expired in the first regular-season game at the Cowboys’ $1.15 billion stadium.
Eli Manning threw two touchdown passes and the Giants’ defense intercepted Tony Romo three times last night in Arlington, Texas. Bruce Johnson returned one of the interceptions 34 yards for a touchdown in a game that featured nine lead changes.
The crowd of 105,121 was the largest for a regular-season National Football League game. Five of the past six teams to open new NFL stadiums have lost their season openers.

Forgot to check whether this was on Ten..thanks for the reminder (might need to source from the Net).
Isnt it amazing that 1.15 billion (US) gets you 105,000+ and yet in Perth WA it gets you a Albino Pachaderm that was going to seat 65,000.
The numbers just dont add up.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!" - Rocky Balboa
That is one hell'uva stadium too. http://stadium.dallascowboys.com/multimedia.cfm
It actually seats 80,000 with 300 suites. That 105,000 includes 25,000 standing room tickets that were sold.
The $1.5 Billion included costs of purchsing the privately owned properties in the development zone, trasnport upgrades, demolition of Subiaco (which if they asked us I'm sure we would find some eager volunteers). I think the Stadium itself was costed at about $750 million
