It should be a little easier picking the winners this week, but it isn't.
Palmyra v Nedlands
Neddies showed they were still a force after matching it with Perth last week, The unknown quantity is Palmyra. Were they really that good in demolishing Uni, or were Uni not as good as they were hyped up to be? In my opinion Uni were a pretty decent side with some exceptional talent. They lost because they came with a let's turn up and we'll win attitude and were shell shocked in the first ten minutes, losing any semblence of a game plan, and never recovered. They won't make that mistake again. Nedlands will struggle against Palmyra, who are fit, strong in the set pieces, and have more than a few individual play makers who are capable of turning the game on their own. As well, their defence is very tight. I never underestimate Neddies, but they will have to work hard to secure this one.
Kalamunda v Perth
Toss a coin. Kala have home ground advantage and their pride was stung by being thumped by Wanneroo. They'll come out bitter, twisted and aggro. Perth I don't think have their full squad together yet, but they do have a great deal of mongrel and determination in them. I think it will be enough to just get them over the line against a Kala team which ain't quite what it used to be.
Rockingham v Wanneroo
Wanneroo appear to be "the" team this year on present indications, which is unfortunate for Rocky, meeting them so early in the season. Rocky will improve, but not soon enough to match the Roodogs.
Associates v Wests
Soaks by 60 points plus, unless they invoke the mercy rule.
Cottesloe v University
Cott are vastly improved from last season, but won't have the overall quality to best a very well balanced and hurting University.
And of course I'll be wiping the egg off my face on Sunday evening. But at least I'm prepared to stick my neck out.
my winning teams will be
Wanneroo
Palmyra
Perth
Associates
Cottesloe
unfortunatley will miss the Nedlands -Palmyra game as I will be in Nannup watching my boys downhill mountain bike racing
You'll see the results here - but only if Palmyra win!
no computers in Nannup, only the sound of the banjo Fulvio
Ah, I see, another dirty weekend with Chiselhead!
OK, I'll bite.
You reffing first grade this Sunday Ecky?
I hear Wanneroo's Cook Island 5/8 is a ref hating, ref abusing, ref smoting, head hunter.
Be sure to send him off.
Actually, while you're at it, send half a dozen off.
The other refs must have not shown great form so far hey Ecky?
Go Kala! My team![]()
A kick in this game is like a rather nasty alcoholic shooter, only as good as it's chaser...
