The Herald has learned that former Queensland and North Sydney Bears rugby league player Tony Rea has indicated his interest in the Western Force chief executive's position recently vacated by Peter O'Meara.
Rea, 41, has spent the past 14 years in England, where he has garnered experience as a player, captain, head coach and administrator with the London Broncos and Harlequins, and in the media as an analyst for BSkyB television.
"Tony and his family are keen to relocate. In addition to his interest in the Force, he is also checking NRL opportunities," his agent, John Fordham, said.
Do future CEO's now have agents????
Now...where have we heard that name Fordham before?
Drew Mitchell and Matt Giteau.....yet
Clients on The Fordham Company’s books include television and radio personalities John Laws, Lisa Wilkinson, Karl Stefanovic, Tracy Grimshaw, Ben Fordham, Greg Alexander, Tim Webster, Steve Liebmann, Peter FitzSimons, Matthew Johns, Mark Taylor and Ian Chappell; sporting legends Andrew Johns, Ricky Stuart, Craig Bellamy, Paul Roos, Matthew Burke, Bob Dwyer, Glen Boss, John Mitchell and Cameron Shepherd and corporate presenters Dr Ross Walker and Anne Fulwood.
I'm unclear- does that mean he played rugby league for both Queensland and the Bears or did he play league for the bears and union for Queensland? If he hasn't been pretty heavily involved in Union I don't think he's for us. I think we need someone comfortable in the skin of Union.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
