Elsom and Van der Linde decisions postponed25 August 2008, 2:15 pmBy Scrum.com
A decision on whether Wallabies flanker Rocky Elsom and Springboks prop CJ van der Linde will be available for Saturday's Tri-Nations Test in Johannesburg will not be made until tomorrow.
The duo today fronted a SANZAR judicial panel in Durban after being cited for alleged foul play during last weekend’s 27-15 win by the Wallabies over South Africa at the ABSA Stadium.
A decision following the two-hour hearing was deferred, and will be announced tomorrow.
Meanwhile the injured Wallabies pairing of lock Daniel Vickerman and inside centre Berrick Barnes are returning to Australia this evening.
The pair, who both sustained shoulder injuries last weekend at Durban which have ruled them out of Saturday’s re-match against South Africa at Coca Cola (formerly Ellis) Park, left the team’s Durban base this afternoon.
The loss of the two players has been partially compensated by the arrival from Australia of Western Force skipper Nathan Sharpe, who is scheduled to join the team in Durban this evening ahead of the Wallabies’ penultimate Tri-Nations fixture.
The Wallabies side to play South Africa will be named on Thursday.
Lock/back-row forward Hugh McMeniman, who was a late withdrawal from last weekend’s historic win due to illness, is on the road to recovery and is expected to be fit for selection.
The Wallabies will be chasing back-to-back wins over the Springboks for the first time in 45 years when they line up against the World Cup champions on Saturday night.
Australia has only once won successive Tests in South Africa – in 1963 when the Wallabies beat the Boks 9-5 in Cape Town and 11-9 in Johannesburg two weeks later.

depends how long it takes for the saffer bookies to hand over brown paper bags to the judiciary members.

I heard 18 weeks for CJ and 12 for Rocky...isn't that right Gerry?
i really want to know!
BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White
I will be pissed off if Elsom gets anything, I mean for gods sake, it happens every damn game, if we were to ping everyone on it teams would have to call in club locks to take the place of the suspended locks.
Just reading on the SARU website, if this isn't a direct attempt to get Rocky Elsom in trouble I don't know what is...
Couldn't they have just said he was injured in a lineout?! It's not Elsom's fault Matfield couldn't co-ordinate his legs to land on his feet!Originally Posted by SARU
Maybe we should go through the Wallabies squad and identify who is injured and how...Cordingley has a bruised head from Van der Linde's headbutt, Drew Mitchell has a bruised knee from Francois Steyn's late tackle in the air, James Horwill has a sore head after getting hit in the head, Rocky Elsom and Wycliff Palu and George Smith are bruised and could have muscle damage after being punched by Shalk Burger..who can we blame Vickerman and Barnes' shoulders on?
"VICIOUS, that was vicious. Nicky Winmar has just headbutted Tony Lockett right on the point of the Elbow. That was vicious"
Classic "12th Man" stuff
I think they should out Steyn for what looked like a deliberate headbutt to the knee
(i am joking)
