Incumbent ACT Brumbies flyhalf Christian Lealiifano has vowed to fight to retain the No10 jersey next season despite the addition of Matt Giteau to the team.
Giteau, the Western Force and Wallabies pivot, will return to Canberra next year. He will more than likely play flyhalf.
But Lealiifano, who has minimal experience in any other position, refused to concede defeat to Giteau, saying he wanted to remain at the Brumbies and be their next long-term No10. Lealiifano is contracted to the Brumbies until the end of next season.
''It's good [Giteau's] coming home, good for the club, but it's something I won't be worrying about,'' Lealiifano said yesterday.
''Him coming back puts no added pressure on me and to be honest, I'm not even really looking to 2010 yet from a football perspective anyway.
''My main focus for the time being is cementing the 10 spot for this year and if I can do that, then Matt [Giteau] and Matt Toomua and I will all be up there and the coaches will have to do what they think is best for the team at the time.''
