BOKKE“Let me put it this way, A Springbok team contains Afrikaners, Englishmen, coloureds and blacks. It has parochial foes in Bulls, Sharks, Stormers, Cheetahs and Lions. It is a recipe for war! Yet in all the years of John Smit’s captaincy, there has never been one unhappy customer, not one voice of rebellion against his leadership. He is the glue that holds the Springboks together. The man is a legend!”- Jake White

Hi all, new the the forum but not the force, I was @ the home game against the Stormers back in April during a holiday/scouting trip, (yes i'm hoping to desert this bloody place & become another pommy in oz.)
Anyway, I was at the game today against my current local side, (Northampton Saints), and basically we were bullied into submission, (no great surprise considering the side we had out).
After the first 10 minutes which were quite open Northampton realized they wouldn't win the game with an open running game as they lost possession 4 times as Pocock & co just said 'thank you' at the breakdown, After this The game became a war of Attrition as Northampton decided to play set-piece rugby (snore), The best example of this was the 10 minutes spent scrummaging 5 meters from the Force line which resulted in the yellow card and subsequent penalty try.
The big + from the game was the defense which was outstanding with only 1 missed tackle & plenty of big hits going in.
Anyway, I hope this gives you lot a taster & here's hoping to a season ticket for the 2010 season....
From the Chronicle in northampton :
Chris Ashton scores twice as Northampton Saints see off Western Force - Northampton Chronicle and Echo
Chris Ashton scored two late tries as Saints enjoyed a satisfying win against Australian Super 14 side Western Force at Franklin's Gardens.
The winger dotted down twice in time added on to give the scoreline a comfortable look for Saints after what was a hard-fought battle, but there was no doubt the Saints deserved their win.
Under that rarest of things, a hot August sun, Saints started brightly but it didn't take long for the Force, who have already played three games on their UK tour, to get into their stride.
