Rugby kick off for Great Southern rugby union
THE new-look Great Southern rugby union season is just a couple of weeks away from kick-off.
This year, the Albany Lions have not nominated a team in the Great Southern Rugby Union Association.
Instead a new association has been formed called the Albany Districts Rugby Union Association (ADRUA).
After recent trials, three teams - the Mt Barker Bulls, the Denmark Brothers and Albany Lions, have been nominated.
All matches will be played at Centennial Oval and Denmark, instead of travelling to Narrogin or Katanning.
Although enough players have already registered for a 10-a-side competition, more people are encouraged to pull on their boots and turn up for a training session, which are being held at Royals Football Club at 6pm on Thursdays.
Alternatively, phone ADRUA president John Clouston on 0438 927 190 for more information.
The first round of fixtures begin on Saturday, April 18.

"The only trophy we won this day, was the blood and sweat we left on the pitch.... and it was enough"
"Rugby may have many problems, but the gravest is undoubtedly that of the persistence of summer."

Do any of these teams have websites?
Who has juniors?
Who wants to play?
Controversy corner
If any of these teams want a dedicated forum where they can post .. well what ever they want, I'm happy to oblige. It can even be 'branded' with their own logo etc... This has been offered in the past to all clubs, but with most being well established they already had the resources to look after such things themselves.
I can also offer all the free advice you want in regards to getting an online presence. As to the value of any such advice - thats for you to work out![]()
