A STRONG showing by the Western Force's Wallabies contingent was marred by a New Zealand victory in Saturday's Bledisloe Cup Test.
Drew Mitchell posted two first half tries - in the seventh and 26th minutes - and Matt Giteau converted both, to give Australia a 14-9 halftime lead at Hong Kong Stadium.
The effort saw all Wallabies points for the match scored by Western Force players.
Youngster David Pocock also got the opportunity to debut for his country, giving the Force six representatives in the match.
Aided in no small way by some generous refereeing from Irishman Alan Lewis - who did his best to spoil the spectacle for the near-sellout crowd of 39,682 - the All Blacks rallied from the halftime defecit to post a hard-earned 19-14 victory.
