80 Minutes, 15 Positions, No Protection, Wanna Ruck?
Ruck Me, Maul Me, Make Me Scrum!
Education is Important, but Rugby is Importanter!
Far out there is a lot of work to be done! We only have 10 players contracted for 2018..... At least the coaches are already contracted which should make negotiations easier.
Contract freeze has been lifted, but ARU still committed to dropping an Aus team

One problem partly solved but the overall shambles remains
Well we can put a line through Morahan and Van Wyk, since they're heading overseas. Van Wyk has looked rather good the last couple of weeks so that is disappointing.
I think the priorities should be:
Adam Coleman
TPN
Hardwick
Louwrens
Peni
RHP
Philip
Faulkner
Lance
They are probably the guys that would be the most sought after by other franchises.
Generally speaking you aren’t learning much if your lips are moving!!!
So, let's sign all our players up to 20 year contracts with no exit clauses so if the ARU try to cut us they will be bankrupted buying out the contracts.
Kotecka?
The long sobs of autumn's violins wound my heart with a monotonous languor
So if we were to stay I would like to see us sign as new players:
1) 1 prop to replace Van Wyk
2) 1 extra lock (maybe Carmichael)
3) An openside to replace Hodgson (Gill or McMahon would be nice)
4) A gun flyhalf to replace Grant
5) 2 more centres to replace Brache and Matuauto
6) 2 outside backs to replace Masirewa and Morahan
So mainly the inside and outside backs as usual
Does Marcel *Actually* require a marquee contract, or are we guessing?
Have the ARU cancelled the Marquee spots?
If they have not, we will struggle to find a marquee player which will not cost too much as any proven international player will get contracts easily in the French or English league..... Brache is not a great player but he still brings a lot and gives a lot to the Force and I would be happy if we manage to keep him as well unless we manage to unearth better marquee players.
Sure, but do we have a prior example of where someone has been capped while signed with a super rugby side? Just wondering if there's an exemption.
According to rugby.com Masirewa also leaving
The Force are already saying goodbye to back Luke Morahan, while fringe players Francois Van Wyk (Northampton) and Semisi Masirewa (Japan) are also set to depart.

Of the ones slated to leave as I read to this point of the thread I think my biggest disappointment is van wyk, and we have pretty good cover there.
We need to consider another, more open side backrower, because hodgo needs to get into the coaches box at some point, to leave the cover as late as they have suggests there isn't a succession plan. Is Kane long term injured? I would have expected him to play a lot more minutes this year.
If hodgo loses his contract, or worse retains it and then gets hurt, we're without an experienced fetcher, despite the Potential of Kane and the quality of Benny mac. Could rhino convert to the fetch role?
