The ACT Brumbies' preparations for the Super 14 have been dealt a blow with star player Matt Giteau suffering a quadriceps injury.
Giteau strained the muscle in training on Monday and is in doubt for the much-anticipated round one clash with his former club the Western Force in Perth on February 12.

he will play, just a bit of media speculation
Wouldn't that be ironic.
Don't expect to see Mudskipper on here again for a while. Heh he's probably banned anyway.
Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.
Gits obviously got some footage of a 'torrid' trial between us and the sharks and has pulled a sympathy hammie!

Hope he's going to be OK to play, we want to beat their full strength team!
Mitchell’s 2010 kicking game plan will test the Brumbies commitment to running the ball in 2010… They don’t have a chance against Pretorius's boot…

Muscle tear casts doubt over Matt Giteau for Brumbies' season-opener
WALLABIES playmaker Matt Giteau is in doubt for the Brumbies' Super 14 rugby season opener against his former side, the Western Force, due to a quad strain.
Giteau suffered a slight tear in the muscle during sprint training on Monday, ruining hopes of him playing the Brumbies' final trial match against the NSW Waratahs in Canberra on February 4.
The star five-eighth is confident he'll be able to line up against the Force for a February 12 clash in Perth, which is sure to have extra emotion after his off-season switch back to the Brumbies.
However, his availability depends on how he responds to treatment.
“I should be fine, it's not a game I'm wanting to miss so I think should be right to play,” Giteau said today.
“It's the first game of the Super 14 and obviously (I've been) brought back to the Brumbies now so it's a game I really want to play and there's a bit of history there as well.”
Giteau said he felt a twinge as he decelerated at the end of a 40m sprint during speed work.
The injury hampers coach Andy Friend's plans ahead of the competition, with the Test pivot needing time to readjust to the Brumbies backline after three seasons with the Force.
“It's not ideal,” Giteau said. “Obviously trying to get combinations and learning the patterns and players and things like that and playing the trial matches you get a lot out of those.
“It's disappointing it's happened but at least it's not as bad as I first thought.”
WTF... shit he might be there at the MES a spoil the party...

Is Gits wondering who has the better S&C staff now?
I can't see us losing now. But i would of liked to see Giteau play so everyone could of seen excatly how much better we would be with him this season.
I hope Gits is ready to play. He's proven to be pretty tough.
Success is not final, failure is not fatal:
it is the courage to continue that counts.

I hope Gits can play so he can see how much he held us back over the last couple of seasons by being a solo superstar.

Gits and Muddie must share the same ticker - neither with enough dangling participles to make the trip!!
