The All Blacks have this ability to deceive the officials at the tackle area.
When they double tackle one player deliberately goes between the player and his team mates and cuts off the back door. The other then jackals the trapped player and ball. The back door player is getting away with this all the time.
McCaw and So'ialo work this trick all game and it makes McCaw look good.
I am not saying these guys are wrong, if I could get away with I do it!
I would estimate that the AB's turned over 1 in 4 in this way in a game either with a penalty or scrum in their favour. A little less than 1 in 4 they are penalised for hands. It's a risk worth taking if you can get away with it.
I felt sorry for Victor Matfield who pointed this out to Alain Rolland and got nowhere. This referee like so many other are just seems blind to this illegal tactic.
Bernard Laporte spotted it as well and is likely to be chastised for bringing it up.
Are the Coaches and Captains being gagged too much?
They have no right of reply.
Eddie brought this up and got fined.
There is something wrong with the way the game is being administered and umpired.
Top players and coaches should have a forum to iron all this out and make the game better.
Maybe we should invite them to join our experts at TWF?
