Apparently Fardy left out for tactical reasons (i.e. not an injury), which is very surprising.
To me, that's a pretty weak looking team that we should beat.
Forecast is good for Friday in Canberra, so hopefully we'll finally see what this new Force team can do.
No doubt that's what everyone has been saying about the Force too.
We need to play with the intensity as if it were the Hurricanes.
But be clinical in our delivery, especially at the set piece.
They have 2 pretty good locks, so our lineout will need to be spot on.
Just play like we did last week against the reds, but don't drop the ball so much.
3 Ex Force players in the Brums squad. Not only are we developing players for ourselves but for other teams as well!
Battle of the centres should be fantastic.
That's a really strong lineout they have there with Smiler and Hyne both legitimate jumpers in their own right. Expect the main attacking weapon for the Brumbies to be their rolling maul.
Assuming Louwrens will start at 9? Powell has been seemingly anointed the Wallaby 9 in waiting. I think Louwrens has as much right to claim that title. Their battle should be a highlight.
we should maintain dominance at the breakdown if Fardy isn't there but should be wary of the rolling maul and sniping around the edges of rucks. Will see if Adonis has made any changes to his game but I fear hes lost that spark that pundits claimed made him a "wallaby in waiting"
Agreed, I for one haven't been guilty of judging Kyle too harshly about moving, I think it's the change he needed to get back to his potential, but MY GOD I hope he sucks out loud this week!
Another great point, but we all thought that in the leadup to last Thursday with them essentially facing the Wallabies unit in Moore, Simmons and Douglas. They surprised us then with clever defense and sheer guts, hopefully they can do the same this week.
I also hope they've come up with a plan to shut down the Brumbies bullshit throw to the front from last week, They went to that well four times that I can remember and got paid for each one. Time to shut it down, it doesn't deserve to come out for the rest of the season now.
It'll be an intriguing battle for sure, but I'm with Jargs in thinking that the nepotism is sufficient for there to be no Wallabies jersey on the line this weekend.
We just need the same pressure in Powell's face that they have given to both Phipps and Frisby and the Brumbies will very quickly forget they have a backline and do everything with the low numbers. Maul defense will need to improve markedly over what I've seen so far this year.

Coleman to miss five weeks as Force switch it up for Brumbies
Today at 3:46 PM Super Rugby
by Beth Newman
Force and Wallabies lock Adam Coleman is set to miss five weeks with a calf injury, as the WA franchise named their team to face the Brumbies.
Coleman came off early in the Force’s 26-19 win against the Reds after straining the muscle and coach Dave Wessels confirmed he would miss just over a month with the issue.
With two byes to come in that time, if all goes well, Coleman will be in line to return for the Force’s round nine match against the Chiefs in Perth.
The loss of their lineout caller is a massive blow for the Force but Wessels said it could have been much worse for Coleman, the Force and the Wallabies.
Depending on the severity, calf injuries can rule players out for four months or more.
“We got out of jail with big ‘Ads’,” he said.
“He's got a niggle with his calf but it looks like a five-week injury and given the bye, we feel like we got away with one there.
Ross Haylett-Petty will return to the second row after playing blindside against the Reds, combining with rookie Matt Philip.
Their pairing is one Wessels believes can continue the enforcer role that Coleman has taken up in recent times.
"When you get hit by Rossco, you stay hit, which is a good thing," he said.
"I think also there's more onus again on our backrow to get through the work they did against the Waratahs (in round one).
"Two of those backrowers got through over 30 contact in the game, which is a huge number and that's Matt Hodgson numbers so we need that same effort from them again."
Coleman has still played a major role in the lead-up to this game, Wessels said.
"He leads our lineout, so he doesn't necessarily need to be playing to do that," he said.
"Adam went off fairly early and Matt and Ross continuedthe game and did some really good work. They're both really good players and we've got full faith in them."
Hodgson is another player set to miss this weekend’s Canberra matchup, with the Force taking a cautious route with the flanker, Wessels confident he will return for their round five trip to Christchurch, while captain Ben McCalman is still recovering from his dislocated thumb.
In more positive news, playmaker Jono Lance will be back in the side for the Brumbies match, after fearing the worst when he came off with a rib injury against the Reds.
The Force have made a few switches for Friday night’s game, with front row duo Tetera Faulkner and Pek Cowan coming into the starting XV, with Ben Daley and Jermain Ainsley on the bench.
Former Brumbies back Robbie Coleman comes onto the bench, along with potential debutant Onehunga Havili, a second rower who also featured on the wing in the NRC team.
“'Hunga' actually played on the wing for us at some points,” he said.
“He's very big and he's very fast and we saw in the NRC, particularly at scrum time, how powerful he can be.”

The battle for the Australian 9 jersey will be a feature this year. If Louwrens has any set backs I expect Ruru to make a statement. I really rate him. Expect Tony Jones and Co to be right on the case though.
But they all have to get past Genia depending availability.
