Can't understand as only two Wallabies are out of contract. Unless some of the other forwards are committing for longer. Unless this is a wind up in which case not cool man not cool!!!!!!

Key Wallabies trio to stay with Force

here you go, who needs a coach to retain players?

THREE Wallabies players are on the verge of signing new contracts with the Western Force in a big boost for the beleaguered Perth club.

PerthNow can reveal the Force is set to announce loose forwards Matt Hodgson and Richard Brown, and halfback Brett Sheehan will be staying with the club.

Hodgson, capped six times for Australia, has already re-signed for the club and Brown (23 caps) and Sheehan (three caps) are believed to be on the verge of confirming their immediate future with the Perth franchise.

The re-signing of the Force’s Wallabies represents a significant vote of confidence in the club, considering it has yet to announce who will be taking over the coaching reins from the already departed Richard Graham, who stunned Perth in mid-season announcing he was joining the Reds.

The other capped Wallabies in the Force stable, Pek Cowan (five caps), Salesi Ma’afu (14 caps) and Ben McCalman (21 caps) are all on extended contracts.

Former skipper Nathan Sharpe, who has 102 caps, will be retiring and returning to Queensland at the end of the 2012 Super 15 season.

The re-signing of the three Test capped players leaves only one outstanding Wallaby signature, that of 40-cap player David Pocock, the biggest catch in the basket whose signature is regarded as pivotal to the Force’ future aspirations.

Western Force chief executive Vern Reid told PerthNow recently that Pocock was focusing on the Wallabies at present, but was contracted until December 31 and in no hurry to decide his future.

In a statement yesterday, the Force said they would announce the signings tomorrow and that two of the three players would be coaching teams and refereeing matches at Brittania Oval in Leederville on Saturday morning.

Thats Brill now we dont need a marquee 9 just grab another 7s player to develop aswell as turner lets get Tapuia and Rod Davies in... I know hes shite technically and mentally but with this new lookmidfield we look like were going to break the line with tupou and this new junior guy so rocket rod will hit any lines needed and no one can touch him

Happy to see Sheehan re-sign for another year. u can never question his committment and effort. Takes a heap of pressure off the recruiters in how to use the marquee spot.
