Former Wallabies lock Dan Vickerman has captained Cambridge University to a 31-27 victory over Oxford in the 128th Varsity Match at Twickenham.
Thursday's win allowed Vickerman, capped 55 times for Australia from 2002-08 before beginning a three-year Land Economy course at the famous university, to avenge last year's 33-29 loss to Oxford, a match he also contested.
The latest result means Cambridge have won the traditional battle 61 times and Oxford 53, with 14 draws.
Oxford's precision was found wanting in the first half with numerous fumbles costing them while Cambridge defended strongly.
But it was Oxford who broke through with a penalty try just eight minutes from halftime and Ross Swanson's conversion gave them a 7-0 lead.
A try from David Riley moments before the break closed the gap to 7-5.
The tempo of the match picked up dramatically in the second half with Cambridge scoring four tries to two.
Oxford's second try of the half was a consolation in the closing seconds by Alex Cheesman.
