"When Harry Scoble told his dad he wanted to play rugby because he was fed up getting scolded for being too rough in Auskick, his first question to his eight-year-old son was, “what’s rugby?”
But when your dad’s uncle was AFL Hall of Fame legend “Mr Football” Ted Whitten his stunned response was not so surprising.
Dad Chris and mum Karen certainly know plenty about rugby now and were pitchside when Scoble made his Force try-scoring debut against the Waratahs.
They have nurtured him from under 9s to Junior Wallaby at the 2014 Junior World Cup, into the first intake of the Future Force academy and now Super Rugby.
The last few weeks have been a blur for the 21-year-old UWA engineering student.
Three weeks ago he was playing local club rugby for UWA against Kalamunda, a week later he scored against the Tahs with just his second touch after coming off the reserves bench.
Last week he started his first Super Rugby match and now he is in Tokyo preparing for Saturday’s clash with the Sunwolves."
The rest at the link above. Time for a Harry Scoble sub-forum too, me thinks
