Innforcer, Domestically between Auckland - Wellington - Christchurch on Pacific Blue is actually cheaper.

Wellington is a fantastic city and you will have a ton of things to do. Make sure you have a look at Te Papa the national museum of New Zealand and just absorb the vibe of the city.

Enjoy the trip, will be bloody freezing though!

The Backbencher across the road from parliament house is fantastic, not sure how Irish it is, but it is a great pub. With some great sportsmans heads put up in the bar.

Just doing some last minute preperations and goal setting for the tour

NSW-ACT March 2007 - 27 pubs in 5 days = 5.40 pubs per day
ACT - NSW April 2007 - 13 pubs in 4 days = 3.25 pubs per day
Melbne Bledisloe 2007 - 20 pubs in 5 days = 4.00 pubs per day
Melbne v Crusdr 2008 - 12 pubs in 4 days = 3.00 pubs per day

Bearing in mind the first tour on the list took in the pub rich area of The Rocks in Sydney, I would like to think we can keep up a 3 pub per day average in NZ.
