Good to see it happens everywhere!

In the local Perth comp the scoresheets have a section for the team to mark the referee they just had. It's most unusual to see the losing team giving the ref good scores, but not unusual at all to see the winning team giving the ref a good wrap.

And then there's the supporters! It's amazing how many games have been lost solely because of the lousy refereeing. Funny how a ref gets shot down for every mistake they make but the supporters seem to forgive their own team for the one or two (or more than two on occasion) mistakes they make in the very same game...

Yeah Ecky, why do they have that box on the form?Surely it's pretty useless.

Wouldn't it be better to have some methodto make an official protest if you think the ref was really out to get you and leave it at that.

Or if the ratings were used to rank refs for finals, wouldn't it be better to have an independent judge do that?

I suppose it makes the losing coach feel better if he/she can vent straight away? Actually, in some cases, if there is a trend being seen with a particular ref, it CAN be a useful tool. But mainly not, let's face it!

...and there is a proper form available from RWA where the team can make their official "complaint". It's here if you're interested http://www.rugbywa.com.au/community_...orm,51507.html

We have independent judges in the form of Referee Coaches, and a Coaching & Appointments Board (CAB). The CAB do the allocations throughout the year and, leading up to finals, each of us gets assessed (as opposed to coached), whereby we are scored on our game: what we got right, what we got wrong etc. Then the CAB make their gradings for the finals series. They then assess us during the 3 rounds of the finals and allocate grand finals accordingly.

Well Ecky its like this. We know OUR team is made up of men, you know human beings. We think the opposition is mainly human (with some drug enhancement that we wouldn't stoop to). But REF's ? Are they really from the same planet?

Notable Barnes hasn't been appointed in any capacity for the rest of the World Cup, regardless of what Paddy is saying that would indicate something.

Besides a few dicks not noticing anyone on kiwi sites getting overly emotional about the Ref. The usual calls for the coach and captain's heads, some questioning on rotation policy, but by and largely most people seem to have taken this one on the chin.

Maybe one of the drop kicks who burnt his kiwi jersey would like to explain to McCaw about that, am sure Richie would take the opportunity to let go of some emotion

BTW huge call on kiwi sites to make tomorrow team colour day for Aussies, Kiwis, Scots, and Fijians. Will be fitted out in my exceedingly fashionable cross Wallaby/All Black jersey Has both emblems.

All you have to do is have a drink with us after the match! Then you'll find out

Unless, that is, if you thought it was all our fault that your team lost the game, and you have no concept of discussing it reasonably, in which case you can just nick off
