    Boring Rugby

i have to admit i havent seen England play a boring game of rugby since we lost 36-0 to SA.

I with millions of other fellow poms have enjoyed us winning and going all the way to the world cup final.

I believe the bored fans are the Austs and kiwis who dont have their team in the cup

And i hope England dont go out just to entertain rugby fans other than their own and i personally am entertained by the victories!

    Keep it up England!

Well if LTP only posts when England win a game, that'll work out to be about six times every four years...

    I like those odds.

Looking at LTP vcash stores - he obviously hasn't actually been been putting any money where his mouth is and backing his team, otherwise he should have some vcash to show for it!

    HOLY HELL LUKE!!!!
I have!!!To qualify this, I, like most sane rugby supporters believe rugby to be a game involving running, passing and scoring tries.

I don't have the stats, but I would be keen to see how England have fared in those three areas, Probably comparing Line Breaks, tries scored and Fly half pass/kick/run scores would do it.

Does anybody have access to the stats. I reckon if we did a comparison of say the final 8, England would pretty much have to be the worst performed of all of them (Maybe except Argentina and Scotland I dunno) Rank them based upon those stats and you'd get where they stand for exciting rugby in my books.

But who wants to watch exciting rugby if their team doesn't win?!

I was having dinner with 3 erstwhile TWFers at the weekend and we came to the conclusion that we'd all love for the to win the 2008 Super 14 by winning each match 3-0 thanks to a single penalty or drop goal.

The green-eyed monster has well & truly showed itself with the negative comments about the merits of one of the RWC finalists. Didn't England score the only try of their semi-final?

Bloody hell! That's just not fair. You're putting a factual slant on the argument.

I don't know about that. I was at the drawn Force v Crusaders game last year and it was absolutely awesome as I am sure you'll all remember it sucked a bit that we didn't win but it was a great game to watch and I left Subi oval in a great mood.

I also remember watching our first win over the Cheetahs at the OBH 2 weeks later and let me tell you it really was much more boring to watch. I was happy we'd finally won one but I felt a really empty feeling from it. There were less tries scored, less running and fewer multi-phase plays.

As for England's try- it was from a mistake not from a great set piece move or a brilliant individual effort. Its always a much greater feeling when your team scores a try than when your team get a penalty and I think the players and coaches owe that to their supporters.
