Should polls be able to be voted on by "guests"?

Easy - should I give "guests" the ability to vote on polls or keep it only for registered users?

Could it be set as a choice for the poll poster??
That way it could be turned on or off like public (show names) or private polls.

Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Not as it stands, but I may be able to get TLH or Burgs to help me make some code modifications so I can do that...

Is there any way of changing it depending on the poll? (kind of what FT said - I was busy typing while he posted!)
    General canvassing of opinion - keep it open, it's a good idea to give guests something to feel involved in - they might end up joining;
Something which has real importance, like player of the year, or which might result in a change to the site - registered users only.
    Does this sound reasonable?

Hell no! , let the lazy bastards take the 30 seconds to register if they want their voice heard.

Why call them Guests if you don't give them stuff? Let them vote! Or change their name to 'ghosts' or 'spirits' or 'forces' or 'those other guys'.

I hate to say it, but I agree with the seppo.
If they want to have a say then take the effort to sign up.
There some options that TLH or I could build for you Coach to offer a choice that is different but if a case of yes or no then it is no for me.

We get soooo many guests - it would be interesting to get their opinion on the news of the day - most sites do this - hook them and reel them in

At first i thought no way, sign up for the right to voice your opinion, but i am warming to the idea of allowing a vote on selected issues, if it can be arranged...

As Ghosts can't vote on GTT I think it would be wrong for us to be so open minded and welcoming

I can't wait to see the code that you and TLH build!

They other problem with letting a guest vote is this:

A Pom or Tahs fan could vote under their name, than sign out and vote again under a guest. We would never have a true number. Renee may even of lost her championship, it's just would not be fair.
