    Smile Huxley OK

    Huxley cleared of serious injury
SYDNEY, March 2 (Reuters) - ACT Brumbies fullback Julian Huxley has been cleared of serious injury after suffering a head knock in Saturday's 43-11 Super 14 win over Queensland.
Huxley was taken to a Canberra hospital in a neck brace after he began convulsing following a tackle on Queensland lock James Horwill in the opening minutes of the match.
Huxley was kept under observation overnight but released on Sunday after scans cleared him of serious injury, local media reported.
Brumbies coach Laurie Fisher said Huxley was unlikely to be fit for the next match against New South Wales in Sydney.

It was horrible to watch. But apparently once he was in hospital he asked if they had Foxtel so he could watch and if they didn't then could he have a radio to listen to the call... so he was aware of where he was which is always a good sign.

Good to hear, he was starting to be a useful player for the Brumbies and may earn another Wallabies selection soon.
The other positive is that convulsing has no correlation to the severity of a concusion, nor to the recovery. Its a concommitant effect that has no bearing on the injury or recovery. The fact that he could watch TV at the hospital suggests he had only a mild knock and is likely to be back on the field with only a week off (in case).

I think the guys on Fox need to watch the game a bit closer. They didn't even notice the convulsing and just kept on about a neck injury.

When a guy has a seizure they always put the neck brace on so that if they seize again they won't hurt themselves.

Glad he's going to be ok. It all looked very innocuous until he started convulsing on the ground. Great to see Turinui & Latham ignore the continuing play to stay with him until the ref stopped play.

The bad news for Huxley is that the Brumbies played a lot better when he was off the field as they had to start running the ball. He's their main tactical kicker and so they kept the ball in hand and look at the scoreboard!!!!! He might struggle to get back in the starting line-up at this rate.
