    Huxley kisses rugby goodbye

    Huxley kisses rugby goodbye
Posted 10 hours 9 minutes ago

Brumbies and Wallabies full-back Julian Huxley has conceded his rugby career is over after being diagnosed with a brain tumour.

The 28-year-old has discussed the situation with medical specialists and has been advised not to return to contact sport.

The benign tumour was discovered a fortnight ago when Huxley underwent scans for concussion.

He is due to have surgery next month.

Huxley says he has dealt with the realities of his sporting career and is confident of making a full recovery.

"Initially [after] the shock of having a tumour, [I was] hoping that it wasn't my final stop for a while," he said.

"It's looking more positive, but now I'm realising it's probably not possible for me to go back to rugby."

from Huxley kisses rugby goodbye - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

From me personally; Good luck Julian Huxley, what a loss to Rugby but hopefully you can make as big an impact in whatever you choose to do next.

Well from this point I'm wishing you a speedy recovery and a long, happy life, hopefully using some of the skills you've developed to remain close to the sport you love!

all the best with your surgery, recovery and for the future Hux.

Hopefully you can jump from the playing field to the coaches box or something similar to keep involved with Rugby

Health and wellbeing is much more important that a rugby career. Here's hoping your surgery is complication free and that your recovery is speedy.

    Get well soon Hux.

thats a real shame, he has being a devote servant of australian rugby with his time in QLD and ACT, without receiving the rewards he probably deserves.
