Cams Column - pre Stormers game

By Western Force fullback Cameron Shepherd
    March 25, 2008 10:00am

THE next three weeks with games at home are going to be so important if we are going to be finals contenders, writes Force fullback Cameron Shepherd.
Two wins out of two in New Zealand and getting into the top four was a fantastic effort from the boys.

It is vital to cement ourselves into the finals now.

We were in a great position early last year, but couldn't go on with it and we don't want to let it slip again.

The Stormers will be pretty confident on Friday night.

They are not generally a good travelling side but showed what they can do against the Blues, going down on the bell, and they would love to be able to travel home on a good note.

They had a slow start to the season, but they have shown they are a pretty classy act and have some X- factor players in their backline.

We have got to make sure that we put 80 minutes of football together.

We're not playing that badly, the intent is there, but we're making too many mistakes and we've got to get them out of our game.

My parents rocked up to Queenstown at the weekend, which was a nice surprise.

It's my birthday on Sunday, but they can't get over here and decided to surprise me in New Zealand.

I loved Queenstown, it's so picturesque. It's one of the best places I've been to in New Zealand and it was great to be able to spend time with my parents.

It is so laidback, people from around the world are so friendly. I can see myself going back there on holiday.

Sharpie (captain Nathan Sharpe) plays his 100th Super game on Friday. That's a massive achievement.

He's a great captain, he never gets angry at anyone, he just explains what has to be done.

You can see how much effort he puts in during a game and how hard he is working that you want to play for him.

Lets hope we can all celebrate a win, my birthday and his 100 caps.
