Okay he put Soccer on the map in Australia, cause he had the backing of Frank Lowie (the third richest business man in OZ) he has no one backing him in rugby, so he's on the blame. ....
for starters it was the ARC, secondly if you cant see the financial reasons for why the ARC was cancelled then there is no point continuing this conversation. I agree that that the ARC was great and should have being kept, it was not possible to keep the ARC in the format that it was in previously though, it was too exspensive.

Hence why you change the format, not scrap it all together....

like i said, i personally would have liked the competition to stay even at the expsense of a format change.

At the same time though i dont want to see the ARU go broke, it would have worse side effects over the game in australian then the benefits that the ARC would have brought.

I think the ideal thing to do that would have taken both the business and development things into mind was to keep the ARC open and then picking up the extra tests as they have done for the end of the year....I think the big problem with the ARC was the lack of crowds, simply because not many people knew about it....THAT is where they dropped the ball big time...plus with the big names playing it would have been much more money rolling in through attendances....a one year trial isn't sufficient in any circumstance...especially when the world cup is on at the same time...
