Last year I couldn't really afford to spend the money to get me a Force jumper, and since I can only watch the games on TV it seemed to me that a very large number of fans at Subi were wearing these Blue Crew shirts. I thought, "awesome, I can get me a blue crew shirt for like 30 bucks." I did a bit of searching on merchandise websites and couldn't find it anywhere, so I decided that it must only be for members or something.
Boy was I wrong. I had no idea that this shirt went to wankers who get free tickets to make a bit of noise. And they are really only in the sections behind the goals. The TV would have us believe the whole crowd wears them.
I think there should be a massive media campaign against the Blue Crew, so that honest people like me don't fall into the trap and believe that these are genuine supporters.
The Blue Crew is not for everyone and I must admit I couldn't sit near them, their attempts at mexican waves at inappropraite times piss me off too. However, they are fans that turn up for every game and appear to enjoy themselves and the game.
IMHO I don't believe it's fare to target them for abuse, save it for the opposition if you have to abuse somebody.

The Blue Crew is something you register for at the Western Force website. Also 96fm i believe gives them away. The "songs" the sing/chant get given to them before the game.
Free tickets appeal to alot of people i would imgaine.

I haven't got a problem with the concept of the "Blue Crew".
What I have got a problem with is when the start getting abusive.
When the Stormers started to take complete control of the game, some of the "Blue Crew" turned their back on the game altogether and started becoming abusive to the Stormers fans - verbally and with hand gestures.
I was disgusted - I can stomach the banging of the blow up tubes, the chanting and to a certain extent the wave! Not the abusive jeering of opposition supporters - this is Rugby, not AFL or football!

I can accept good natured banter between supporters of opposing sides, not abuse.
Whats the point of abusing someone just because the go for someone else??

i see 2 of the blue crew "supporters" made it in to the wests fan photo of the week competition, makes you dislike them that little bit more....
