    It's Super Makeover

Front page of today's Super Rugby liftout reveals in an article by Dave Hughes that next years Super 14 competition is likely to be the last under the existing 13 match format, with the season apparently going to be extended to a 16 week season, with an 8 team, month long finals series

John O'Neill has proposed Australia fielding five sides like SA and NZ, possibly a joint venture Japan or Pacific Island group

    japan?
i can understand wanting to bring them into the competition. but you cant change the geography or travel times.
unless sanzar wants to buy a couple of the old Concordes i dont see how they can think the travel turnaround is fiesable.

Feasable....I don't think O'Neill gives a crap, with all his grand views of the future I don't think he realises that such a venture would put him even more in the red...

unless the team is based here, but the players are imported?
with the bigger competition there could be more byes, so if they were to play a game in japan a bye could be scheduled for them and their opponents for the following week?
so in effect the team would have 2 home grounds

This will mean a hike in membership fees will it not?

Probably. I would think that RugbyWA might want to tread a fine line in regards to membership costs. I know that i would probably pay regardless of cost, but i'm sure their will be some out there who won't.

Espeacially because some members seem to be dropping off because Subi is crap and the favour watching the game on Foxsports

im happy to pay any amount to see the force but RugbyWA shouldn't increase it too much otherwise the numbers will drop more than they already have.
