Not happy about Firepower - however happy to hear that Gitts not re- signing with the has little to do with the setup and more to do with third party payments - it also explains why we have had to wait so long for a lot of contract renewals this year - hopefully Greg Harris can sort out some new sponsors etc.. to keep the lads happy - still rate our chances of getting 'em good money better than the Brumbies, Tahs and Reds - good on Gitts and all for not making this public before now - they must feel peeved to be playing for just the salary not the top ups - my other half would kill me if I came home with only half of the pay packet

No, they paid the fine for paying out the 3rd party payments that were defaulted on I believe, as like an insurance policy, new sponsors are seperate from RugbyWA...

- Underwriting benefits provided to players by third parties.
- Paying salaries exceeding the maximum permitted to be paid by state unions [about $110,000].
- Inappropriate disclosure of remunerations provided by players.
- Offering third-party deals to induce a player to sign with the Force.

Whilst there may have been some confusion about the rules which did change espesically during startup with the help of a heavily biased NSW dominated ARU - I'm pretty confident that all that has been done in the last couple of years is within the written rules and at least we manage to do it without having to be bailed out or have special 3rd party payments from the ARU. Do you reckon you will break even next year ?

They are using the 15 jersey as a carrot as that is where Mitchell prefers to play.
