NZRU chief executive Steve Tew acknowledged the organisation didn't envisage Henry's new two-year tenure - made after he guided New Zealand to their worst ever placing at a World Cup in France last October - would have been greeted with widespread condemnation.

Henry was retained ahead of Crusaders and now Wallabies coach Robbie Deans, with the latter's success in last month's Super 14 final reigniting the debate over..read more

I was talking to a mate in Christchurch the other night and according to him, these articles are understating the depth of ill feeling. In the south island at least. He reckons there are many people there hoping for the Wallabies to win the Bledisloe () this year "for Robbie Deans". They are absolutely filthy the NZRU passed him over.

My son-in-law has just been in Otago as well. Bought some cheap priced AB's gear at a sale and was telling his Dad about it on the phone. The response........"Good when you get home bring them out to the shed so we can cut 'em up for the rag bin"

In the Irish Independent they said that over 50% of Kiwis in this survey they did were going to support Deans' Wallabies over Henry's All Blacks.
