Hey Gang,

I had the pleasure of attending the Friends of Uni Rugby Club Fundraiser Lunch last Friday and every year they have a fantastic guest speaker and this year it was the very lovely and very eloquent Richard (Dick) Harry, a Wallabies prop from the good old days.

He and John (The Mayor) Welbourne gave a great presentation about an insight into the life of a wallabies forward and they are some of the funniest blokes around.

Two of the highlights came from Richard who had this to say when asked who the worst person to share a room on tour with was;

'John Welbourne. Because he's like cordial. When he's diluted, surrounded by a big group of people he's great. fantastic. But when he's just on his own he'll make you sick.'

And when asked by one of the attendees at the lunch how he felt about the whole forwards vs backs situation in rugby he responded with;

'In rugby it is the forwards who decide who wins the game. The backs only decide by how much.'

Also that the level of skill required increases the lower the number position goes.

Very much a forward.

There was also much talk of stealing underpants and of painful attempts at picking up women and all sorts of blokey banter. All so very entertaining.

Just thought I'd share those little gems with you guys.

And highly recommend anyone who is a friend of uni rugby goes along to these lunches. They never ever disappoint and are a delight to attend and a highlight of the year, every year.

Looking forward to the next one already!
